1. What’s the difference between the 4- Relay and 8-Relay Module?
2. Can I install this module myself?
3. What does "wet/dry outputs" mean?
4. Does the module support hot-swapping, or must the system be powered down for installation/replacement?
The module does not support hot-swapping, it’s recommended to power down the controller before adding or replacing a relay board to prevent damage or faults.
5. What sensors can I connect?
6. Is this module only for low-voltage equipment, or can it handle higher loads too?
The module is designed to handle both low-voltage signaling and higher load equipment. Each relay is industrial-grade and can directly switch typical greenhouse devices like fans, pumps, and heaters.
7. What is the maximum current/voltage rating for each relay (both wet & dry outputs)?
Each relay output is rated up to 10A at 120/240 VAC for wet contacts, while dry contacts are limited to low-voltage control use. This ensures safe operation across a range of devices.
8. What happens if communication is lost with the controller will relays keep their last state or reset?
If communication is lost, the relays generally hold their last commanded state until the link is restored. This prevents sudden equipment shutdowns or restarts that could harm crops.
9. Can I use the relay output module to run my pumps, fans, or lights?
Yes, the relays can switch pumps, fans, lights, or other equipment within their rated load capacity.
10. Can I still turn my equipment on manually if needed?
Manual control is possible through the main controller’s On/Off/Auto settings, even when using the relay module.
11. Does it help make my system easier to expand in the future?
Yes, adding a Relay Output Module allows you to expand capacity, supporting more devices without replacing your main controller.
