How to Connect a Weather Station to Your Pearl System
- Inputs: Rain, Light (W/m²), Wind Direction, Wind Speed
- Interface: Shielded 4-wire to Pearl controller
- Isolation: Electrically isolated power and communication
- Mounting: DIN rail compatible via LBUS
1. Do I need a separate weather station device?
Yes, this module is the interface for your weather sensors—not the sensors themselves.
2. Is it compatible with any weather station?
3. How is it protected from outdoor conditions?
The module itself is installed indoors; the connected sensors are rated for outdoor use.
4. Will this help me save energy in my greenhouse operations?
By feeding real-time data to the controller, it allows automatic adjustments to fans, vents, and shades, reducing unnecessary energy use.
5. Does this module automatically adjust my greenhouse equipment based on changing weather?
The Weather Station Input Module itself doesn’t directly control equipment; it collects live outdoor data (like wind, light, temperature, and rain). This data is sent to the Pearl controller, which applies programmed rules (for example, “close vents if wind > 25 mph” or “open shades if sunlight is too strong”). The controller then automatically adjusts fans, vents, or shades in real time based on those weather inputs.
6. Will it help me save energy by adjusting fans, vents, and shades automatically?
Absolutely, by responding only when needed, it reduces unnecessary equipment use, lowering overall energy consumption.
7. Can it prevent crop damage during extreme weather (like high winds or storms)?
The system can automatically close vents, retract shades, or shut down equipment to protect crops during severe weather.
8. How many different weather measurements can I track with this module?
You can track multiple inputs such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, light, and rain, depending on the sensors installed.
