Senior Engineer and Firmware Programmer

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, analytical, and creative engineer to make an impact on our product development team.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and develop firmware for products and services. Include documentation of code as part of development.
  • Perform design and code reviews and recommend improvements.
  • Perform testing to validate product architecture and design.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on technical and design issues.
  • Develop firmware algorithms to handle exceptional conditions and errors.
  • Install and verify the firmware on embedded system.
  • Troubleshoot system, performance and functional issues with firmware.
  • Execute projects within defined scope, budget and timelines.
  • Evaluate technical specification for correctness and completeness.
  • Prepare reports on project status, issues and risks for management.
  • Assist in optimizing firmware to achieve performance standards.
  • Provide product support to customers promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review codes of other engineers and provide feedbacks.
  • Writing and maintaining firmware documentation.
  • Work closely with customers on normal sustaining and product troubleshooting issues.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in designing hardware electronics (boards from SDK, sensors, accessories, etc.) that involve power, analog, and digital circuitries. Some will have wireless interfaces, and various communication protocols. Hardware bring-ups and trouble shooting.
  • Selecting key components and associated tool chain (processors, RTOS, tool chains, development tools)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of fiftenn (15) years of experience in firmware development. Direct technical design experience in developing new, complex, embedded electronic products.
  • Ideal candidate will have worked in both large and small engineering teams, and have experience in fast/agile based product development environment.
  • Ability to mentor and grow more junior engineers.
  • Strong command in several key engineering areas (Firmware, Software, Mechanical, and Industrial engineering disciplines).
  • Experience with trouble shooting challenging field issues and tracing multiple root causes.
  • Ability to mentor and grow more junior engineers.

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
